Attendance and Punctuality
At Wyvil Primary School, we strive to support and motivate all pupils to achieve high standards of attendance and punctuality. We understand that consistent attendance plays a vital role in academic success. Pupils need to attend regularly to fully benefit from the educational opportunities provided. Poor attendance disrupts the learning process and can result in educational disadvantage. As such, we maintain a clear and firm policy on attendance and punctuality.
Responsibilities of the School, Pupils, and Parents/Carers
Wyvil Primary School will actively work with parents if concerns arise around attendance or punctuality. We expect and encourage pupils to maintain good attendance and arrive at school on time. Individual attendance and punctuality records will be acknowledged and monitored by the school.
Parents hold legal responsibility for ensuring their child attends school regularly and on time. They must promptly inform the school of any absence by the Studybugs app, phone, email, or in person on each day of absence. Parents are strongly advised not to arrange family holidays during term time. Parents can expect the school to keep them well-informed about their child's attendance and punctuality.

From 9:15am onwards: Children arriving during this period will be marked as late after the register closes (U - unauthorised absence).
If a child arrives late after registration on a number of occasions within a half-term, the school will refer the matter to Lambeth’s Courts Officer, who may issue a Penalty Notice.
Special Leave of Absence Request Form
At Wyvil Primary School, we are committed to achieving excellent attendance from all pupils. However, we recognise that there may be exceptional or unavoidable reasons that require your child to be absent from school. Open communication about such absences is essential so that staff can provide any necessary support for your child’s learning and wellbeing.
If you need to request leave for your child due to personal or unavoidable circumstances, please collect a Special Leave of Absence Form from the school office and submit the form along with evidence to support your request.
The Headteacher will review your request and determine whether it can be authorised.
