Executive Head's Message
Thank you for your interest in Aurora House: Wyvil Primary School's Centre for Children with Autism.
Wyvil Primary School has been providing education to local children since 1876 and is an organisation that is committed to every child reaching their potential and offering an array of opportunities designed to inspire their academic, creative, musical and sporting talents. Pupils at Wyvil Primary School make excellent progress and this is reflected in national test scores that exceed national averages. We also have forged relationships with world class partners that have led to the children having unique experiences.
Aurora House, Wyvil Primary School's Centre for Children with Autism, opened in October 2014. We moved to our permanent site at Kennington Park in February 2017, and the centre has grown year on year, until this year when we are pleased to have reached full capacity, which means we are now able to offer 56 primary aged places for children with autism.
The staff at Aurora House are a combination of the established and those at the earlier stages of their careers. There is an excellent array of skills and a shared commitment to the school. During the last academic year colleagues successfully led the school to achieve national awards for ICT, environmental education and commitment to inclusion.
In 2018/19 the school is looking forwards to further success for all pupils; working closely with our Wyvil Primary School, as well as our wider Federation schools, Ashmole, Herbert Morrison and Vauxhall; combined projects for children, parents and staff in the Oval Learning Cluster and above all, continuing to develop and refine our provision for children with autism with the London Borough of Lambeth.
We hope you find this website informative, and please contact us if you have any further queries.
