Financial Education & Enterprise
Ay Wyvil, we firmly believe that from an early age, it is vital that our children develop a good understanding of finance in order to help them plan and manage a range of financial circumstances as they grow older. It is for that reason that we had adapted our curriculum so that we education our children about finance from an early age so that they develop knowledge, skills and attitudes in relation to money in order to equip them for life.
Through our curriculum, Wyvil aims to provide our children with a broad and real experience of personal finance through a range of enterprising projects.
Our vision is that pupils possess the knowledge, skills and confidence in personal finance that enable them:
- to be resilient when faced with financial challenges
- to show respect for other people's personal financial situations
- to display responsibility when handling money and making important financial decisions.
As well as providing children with access to the PFEG curriculum, we enhance this through activities which include:
-our annual Enterprise Fayre which includes designing, making, advertising and selling high-quality products (and hopefully making a product)
-taking part in a range of financial education workshops
At Wyvil, we are committed to developing and continuing excellence in financial education in not only our own school, but also across the Wyvern Federation and beyond and it is for these reasons and many more, that Financial Education is a vital part of the curriculum at Wyvil Primary School as well as across the Wyvern Federation.
