Rights Respecting
Wyvil has a longstanding commitment to being a Rights Respecting School and became a Unicef Gold Rights Respecting School in June 2018.
Children's learning at Wyvil is linked to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child as well as relevant, current affairs. This means that children are made aware of their rights as well as the duties of the adults around them. Unfortunately, currently we are facing a period where children's (as well as adults) rights are having to be compromised: rights like choosing who you play with, accessing health care and crucially the right to an education have all been challenged. We feel it is vital to remind children of their entitlement to rights at a time when they might be feeling particularly vulnerable.
We hope that you as parents will support us in reviewing our Article of the Week which will be shared in our weekly Friday newsletter.
